Samaritans' Purse began Operation Christmas Child in response to a request to fill shoeboxes with gifts for children in war-torn Bosnia. Within weeks, the church had assembled 11,000 gift-filled shoeboxes. From there, the Operation expanded to several dozens of countries worldwide, in hopes of sharing the Gospel message to children. Every day, boys and girls worldwide suffer from war, poverty, disease, and natural disasters. Operation Christmas Child makes it possible for millions of these children to experience God’s love through gifts.
To support Operation Christmas Child, Elim Tabernacle will start taking monthly donations on the first Missions Sunday (first Sunday of the month) of 2024. Our ministry head, Donna Dodge, hopes to collect donations according to the following program:
We at Elim encourage you to consider these monthly donations. You can drop off your donations in the designated donation bin found in our church foyer. For multiple and/or larger donations, stop by our church office from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9AM to NOON.
Our goal is to have more shoeboxes than the previous year. All of us can help to achieve this goal by bringing just 1 item from the list every month.
1 in 5 children are saved from The Greatest Journey booklet provided by Operation Christmas Child during these Shoebox deliveries.
Join us in our efforts to spread the gospel around the world!
